BRITTNEY'S BELIEVERS

RAISING AWARENESS FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER

Join us in the fight against childhood cancer. Donate now!

Our Mission

Brittney and our family were blessed with a tremendous outpouring of love and support during her yearlong battle with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer and we want to ensure that her name and memory live on.

She may have had a short life, but her legacy will be everlasting as we strive to make a difference in her honor.

Our goal is to raise awareness and advocate for childhood cancer as there is a huge lack of funding and desperate need for research in this area. Increased funding and research can lead to breakthroughs for better treatment options, understanding of the disease and ultimately a cure!

We plan to raise funds and donate directly to research in hopes of making an impact.

We want to give back by helping other families impacted by childhood cancer. Provide them with assistance and/or resources that can help along their journey.

Brittney

Brittney Gail Bliss was born May 27th, 2018, she was our rainbow baby and the perfect addition to our family, as Brian loved being a girl dad. She loved to play dress up, craft and have dance parties in the kitchen. She loved music and could even sing the lyrics to Your Welcome & Old Town Road at the age of 2, one of her favorite songs. She always kept us smiling with her one liners and perfect comedic timing. Her laugh would light up the room and her sass would let you know who was in charge. She was sassy yet sweet, gentle yet protective, shy yet a performer. She was everything we had ever dreamed she could be and so much more.

The Brittney Project

This a collaboration with Children's Cancer Therapy Development Institute, a non-profit research organization. We have setup a page to fund a Rhabdomyosarcoma project! We hope to have this funded before the end of the year!

About the research: With Novartis, the cc-TDI lab screened 640,000 drugs against rhabdomyosarcoma and found 3 very embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma-specific compounds. The next step of this project is to validate the three compounds on a broad range of different human children's individual embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines across different dose ranges, and then to move from Petri dish studies to studies that include a tissue context, as is present in a human child's cancer.
